Do you have your 485 approved ? If not, you are not supposed to contribute to any political campaigns. You have to be a GC holder or citizen to contribute to political campaigns. Its illegal otherwise.
In 1040, we have a checkbox to contribute $3 towards presidential election contribution. If I check that box while in H1B, is that illegal?

Just called Scott Brown and Senator Greg. The person who picked up the phone in Scott Brown offcie noted my name and address. He said he will give my message to the Senator. The lady in Judd Gregg office said that Senator has not yet decided on the immigration proposal but she said the Senator appreciates the call. She did not ask my details but said that the Senator has supported immigration bills in the past. They both sounded very positive.

If you are done with contributing please urge your friends to do so. Previously lot of people used to ask what should they tell about IV achievments to friends. Now you have the July Visa bulletin Fiasco. Strike the iron while it is hot. Please urge you friends to contribute ASAP.

Instead of hiring a full time lobbyist why dont we hire a full time manager who will contact IV members and drive funding drives , organize campaigns , send and spam USCIS with emails flowers and faxes and keep it moving. Heck may be we can even offshore and outsource it. Take a look at YourManInIndia (http://www.yourmaninindia.com/) . At 7$ per hour this wont take much. There are lot of good/standard consulting companies ... Some are 'con' but they can't create massive impact , however the MNC's do MANIPULATION at a large scale.
Do not generalise all consulting companies...At least people working in these consulting companies sponsored GC and buying house and spending their money here. Most of the fradulent GC process was done by these croocked indian companies. They exploited the EB1C system to the maximum extend. Most of the times, they are not filing the GC and keep the employees as slaves or they exploit the EB1c fo their boot lickers.

We all are being fooled and frusturated by USCIS.
Now the question is, what are we going to do about it, keep complaining and whinning about it, or do something constructive.
Well I believe when we are all so knowledgabel about USCIS efficiency, what do we do next?
Well lets give out a big shout to something big, get some media attention and put pressure on USCIS. Unless we still choose to visit IV to express our frusturations and then logg of this webiste and continue to our daily cores.
Lets just wake up for one more time, and do something big, phone calls, faxes does not give us a public exposure, what we need now is public exposure, I have have been saying this for a while but no one seems to give an important consideration. Right now media attantion is in DC, and we can use that in our own advantage.

I doubt that USCIS can talk cryptic like Alan Greenspan, they probably meant that the PD will be back to what it was in june 08. There are only 3k visas per category and thousands of applicants, i dont see a logical reason why the dates will move 2-3 years. If they do, i too will buy you dinner. nothing is logical with USCIS... during the last couple of weeks of September you will see significant numbers of EB 2 approvals and then its back to square one for another year.
The main reason for the 2 year movement in june 07 was because they wanted to allocate all unallocated visas for the year, then the July VB came out and the rest is history. They have improved the coordination between DOJ and USICS since. Just want to be realistic, if we start assuming thing people get complacent and stop doing the little activities that help us.
I don't agree with it and hope not ! As latest Visa bulleting states - DOS people had predicted and planned - They will move EB3 dates forward to cover all June applicants - that means moving cut-off dates for EB3 - India to Jun 2003 as per Jun 2007 bulletin. For some reason - they see heavey demand now and it may not be the case in next bulletin. Still they beleive its diffcult to predict any dates for EB3 before mid Sept. They are working and intention are there to help EB3 applicants. That leads to make me believe that dates for EB3 - India would move to somewhere Nov-Dec 2002 to Jan-Feb 2003 in next bulletin.

I got my loan financed from BOA. I was putting 25% down on 550K home. They did not ask me even a single proof of my status before approving the loan . I am on EAD. Just a thought. May be you can increase the amount you are putting out of your pocket and may be they will approve. Again, just check this with them

This is not true in most cases. The F1 might be for 2 yrs minimum + 1 year EAD + at least 2 yrs on H1B before the GC process starts. Then its 7+ years...
So overall, we are talking 10+ years to get permanant residency in a majority of cases.
"Skilled immigrants have waited patiently for 2+ years"
Are we just talking about 2 yrs to see if there is going to be some reform?
If you don't want to get into the trouble of debating how many years, just say that it is unreasonable....
The best solution is to write the years you spent on F1 and H1B. You can add your additional pains also.
This will change each email also.
