I am planning to call PBEC for my case. My recruitment was completed early this month but the lawyers haven't received a recruitment report instruction letter. I want to request them to at least send the letter since everything else is ready. Did anyone have any luck calling on their own? Or do they only want to speak with employer/attorney?
Although, filing 485 now doesn't seem possible in this narrow time frame... still want to give it a last shot.

I agree, what did I do for IV for the past few months, nothing. Responded to one or two threads. Been very busy at work and was not able to contribute constructively to this organization. I am wondering how many of us are in this same boat, what are we all actually doing in helping the organization from either volunteering, getting more people to open their eyes and recognize a problem and organize and mobilize people. I have been trying for the past 4 years and its not easy and not always successful. To see the leadership team constantly juggling between work and working on different initiatives and putting in self less hours really requires appreciation. Now I think its worth asking ourselves, how much have we done or are willing to do to take us to where all of us want to be IMHO.
let me ask you this. did anyone from "leadership" call/email/contact you when you were inactive/busy with your life. if the leaders did not call/email you, how will you know if your help is needed. i don't see how its u'r fault

Earlier I got a PM from immigration (name on the handle, not USCIS). He has contributed $100 for this round. That takes us to the final 6 shots. Remember these shots can be taken by anyone who believes that IV is doing a great job in order to make necessary changes. If you don't believe so, please don't keep that doubt lingering in your mind, speak up and be heard, if you are uncomfortable posting your doubts on any one of the threads, please use PM. Ask questions, please, if you have any?

I totally agree to this. Everytime i try to bring this point across all that is being asked is go contribue some money. I have contributed money before and i will contribute lot more if i know what it is getting used for.
There are several of my friends who are not actively looking at IV site. I am sure they will contribute money if they know the initiative IV is currently working on.
Unfortunately, we will never know the daily or weekly details. If you see three bills introduced in a year like you saw last year, then it is the result of lobbying effort. IV core has periodic meetings with lobbying firm and all your money goes into that. Plus several trips to DC by IV leadership, to represent YOU and ME.

As much as I appreciate the efforts that the IV core team has put in, them being so secretive, it is almost like they have formed a cabal.
I feel 'cabal' is too strong a word.. secrecy may be but I don't see any conspiracy here..

H1b and GC are sponsered by employer and they have to pay. If employer asks employee to pay the expenses then that company is not legitimate and persons should avoid joining those companies. Most reputed companies will pay all the expenses of GC and H1b. Some will ask employees to pay for dependents EAD,AP etc.
Consulting companies ask employees to pay GC and H1b if employees want to work hourly. That means employees wanted more money and they are taking risk(Also working hourly is against the H1b regulations as they have more chance for falling out of status).
There's no law that employer should borne the cost of GC. I have spent almost 10K in my GC process until last year and 2K this year for EADs and APs. I spend about 3 K in one more GC process I started several years back which I abandoned because I changed the emloyer. I Spent 1000s of dollars in Visa stamping, H4 renewals. This is aboslutly not possible; he/she is trying to fool every one. Before retrogression, the last date to file a 485 for a EB3-Indian with PD 08/2004 was 12/31/2004. From Jan 2005 till July 2007 EB3 Inida was retrogressed for his PD. So he/she could not apply 485 in Feb 2005. The other optins could be he/she may be in EB2 catagory or a Schulde A nurse.
I was in similar time frame; So I know the date well....

I have talked to a representative and he very patiently explained me about the mess.
He clearly and very clearly told me that they have a deadline to send all receipts for June end and July 2nd filers by friday (tomorrow) or worst case monday.
He mentioned that they are working hard to meet this deadline.
Hope this clears the anxiety.
Any updates for TSC who sent their applications to NSC??

I see that a lot of us feel really stuck because of the long GC process and yet we continue to wait. Eventually we all want to have:
1. Freedom to switch jobs
2. Freedom to start businesses
3. Freedom to travel
4. Freedom to have spouse working
I hope and pray that it comes thru sooner than later for all of us. Let's say you get your GC in 1-2-x years. How many years after that would you go back? 2-3 or wait till you get US citizenship? Would you give up the GC after having spent 5+ years waiting and maybe a total of 8-10+ years in US?
For those of us who are thinking that I want to go back eventually, what steps do you plan to take once you get your GC? The reason I raise this question is, it was easy to adapt to a new place when you were young. 6-10 years later (and a couple of kids later :-) what are some of the things you intend to do make your transition homewards easier? Has anyone considered taking on positions with significant travel to India(or your home country) so that you can get accustomed to the lifestyle/work environment/business back home?
